When you put the mini sd card in your computer make sure you put the mp3 songs into the "My mp3" folder.Make sure the songs are in mp3 format. If you have itunes, transfer the songs you want to download into a music program that formats the songs into mp3 format,(like Realplayer etc...),because itunes have the songs in mge4 format.

which version software do U have? I can help u through the procudure step by step. for quick results visit www.howardforums.com. when I had version 4 i had no problem. when I upgraded to version 7 Verizon told me it wouldnt play mp3. thats thier way of making u buy thier music. I was able to activate the mp3 player through a simple "secret menu" on phone and been enjoying MY music.

No you don't ever need to purchase that verizon music thing. The cell plays both MP3s and WMAs. Also, wma music files aren't the best audio formats.

OK FOLKS FOR THOSE WITH THE MP3 PROBLEM WITH THE LG 8300 AND CAN'T GET OR DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR V-CAST HERE YA' GO!! STRAIGHT FROM THE "GOOD GUY" THAT I AM (AND I AM A VERIZON SALESMAN TO)...AND DAMNIT I WOULD GET FIRED IF THEY FOUND OUT :) .. ITS ACTUALLY PRETTY EASY... HERE WE GO... THIS IS FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH A SD MEMORY CARD AND A USB CARD READER
STEP 1: To enable outside phone buttons to play mp3:
From main screen press OK and then the number 0 seven times (you’ll see a series of question marks disappear). Then scroll all the way down and press #11 (Music Setting). Finally, choose My mp3.
STEP 2: To get MP3s to play, including ringtones – Press OK (Menu) and go to Settings and Tools, press 5 (phone settings), press 2 (shortcut key), press 5 (play key), and choose my mp3s.
STEP 3: FORMATTING THE SD (MEMORY CARD) IF THERE IS ANYTHING ON THE CARD AT ALL GET RID OF IT.... MOVE IT TO YOUR PHONE OR YOUR COMPUTER... WHATEVER YOU WANT, JUST MAKE SURE THE CARD IS EMPTY... AFTER ITS EMPTY PLACE IT BACK INTO THE PHONE AND PRESS THE PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON ON THE FRONT OF THE PHONE.... THIS SHOULD GIVE YOU A MESSAGE THAT READS SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF "NO MUSIC FOUND"... PERFECT. YOUR CARD HAS NOW BEEN FORMATTED......
STEP 4: TAKE THE CARD OUT OF THE PHONE, INSERT INTO THE CARD READER AND THE READER THEN INTO THE USB PORT ON YOUR COMPUTER... OPEN IT UP USING THE "MY COMPUTER" TAB IN THE START MENU..SHOULD SAY SOMETHING LIKE "MASS STORAGE DEVICE". NOW YOU WILL SEE A "MY MP3'S" FILE.....OPEN IT UP AND ITS EMPTY.... THEN JUST DRAG AND DROP ANY SIZE MP3 FILE IN THIS FOLDER FROM ANYWHERE ON YOUR COMPUTER..... WHEN YOU GOT EM ALL, REPLACE THE CARD INTO YOUR PHONE........ HIT THE PLAY BUTTON ON THE FRONT OF THE PHONE.....................................
AND JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PEACE/LOVE AND THANKS FOR BEING A VERIZON CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!!
